I may be biased having grown up here, but Lane End really is looking beautiful. The trees are in full leaf, the flowers are blooming and the birds are singing. The ponds are home to golden Carp and red Rudd who lazily swim amid the water lilies, while dragonflies and bees buzz about. The campsite sits in the middle of all this - our garden, and we are glad to share it with you.
Our little site seems the perfect place to spend some quiet time, but is equally waiting for visitors to make the most of the child and dog friendly space. Come - come build a camp in the trees, light a camp fire, mess about on the golf green and play with the garden games.
But if you do want to get out, the beaches aren't far. Surf and sunbathe at Westward Ho!, find the Hockings van for an ice cream at Appledore, Bideford and Torrington, or venture into Cornwall - Bude's not far. Many attractions are located near enough for a daytrip - The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Flambards, Paignton Zoo, The Eden Project and The Lost Garden's of Heligan are all within reach of our place. From Lane End, you can even visit Land's End for the day. Discover The Gnome Reserve within Putford, as well as a tiny but beautiful church, and Bradworthy village is only 4 or 5 miles away. There you'll find good food and ale in the pub, several shops, a garage and post office. The fish and chip van comes on Wednesdays (join us at running club on Thursdays to make up for it!).
If you feel like a break, do call us - dad, mum and I would love to see you. Repeat visitors are now entitled to a 10% discount. If you have a tent and do not require facilities of any kind, stop over for £5 per night (OK, we'll let you use the loo!) - we get a lot of cyclists, and have even had someone with their horse as she passed through. All are welcome. Hope to see you soon.
